Payday Watcher

Brief

An app for planning bills, subscriptions and income around your payday. Flexible pay schedules, payment history and pay-period reports help you see what has gone out and what is still due before your next payday.

Result

An encrypted desktop workspace with spreadsheet import and CSV export, alongside native iPhone and iPad apps in development.

AI strategy game

Ascendancy A.I.

Brief

Reimagine a classic space strategy game for the browser, preserving its sense of exploration while updating the interface and expanding the game systems.

Result

A playable alpha with species selection, research, colonisation and ship building, shaped through AI assisted development and hands-on design.

Lessons learnt

AI can speed up experimentation, but coherent gameplay still depends on clear direction, careful testing and repeated refinement.

Lessons learnt

Understanding how people actually work is as important as configuring the platform; adoption needs attention throughout delivery.

Brief

Design, develop and maintain information systems, reporting environments, document management systems, business system interfaces, data transfers, portals and learning and teaching interfaces.

Previously completed work on the business data warehouse. Recently developed SSIS & SSRS packages used in data migrations and feed integrations for a new HR & payroll system. Currently developing data migration solutions for the new student record system.

Using MS Visual Studio (2008 + 2012); MS Team Foundation Server; MSSQL Server; Oracle PL/SQL; MySQL; MS BIDS.

A UK-focused community and classifieds platform for Chinese migrants, covering introductions and matchmaking, items for sale or exchange, employment opportunities and available properties.

Result

In development, with the core experience focused on helping people find relevant connections and opportunities.

Lessons learnt

Trust, clear categories and straightforward moderation need to be considered from the start of a community platform.

Financial safety

MoneyTransfer.Group

Brief

A financial-safety education project covering scam awareness, country-level visitor diagnostics from deliberately shared links, and clearly simulated transfer receipts for demonstrations without moving real money.

Result

An in-development educational concept that keeps demonstrations clearly separate from real money transfers.

Lessons learnt

In financial safety tools, consent and clear labelling matter as much as the information being presented.

A marketplace where freelancers can offer their skills and clients can post work, compare suitable people and collaborate on hourly or project-based assignments.

Result

An in-development service built around a simple journey from posting work to finding a suitable collaborator.

Lessons learnt

A marketplace needs to make expectations, trust and the next step clear for both clients and freelancers.
